Absolutely. When performed correctly by a certified, experienced laser technician, laser hair removal is both safe and effective. However, it is a non-invasive clinical procedure. As such, there is a potential for associated risks. Fortunately, they are minimal and seldom dangerous, particularly when the necessary precautions are taken.  As a professional laser hair-removal studio, we will not perform any procedures without first assessing: your complete medical history, your current health condition, and any potential you may have for complications.

The Diolazexl system is designed with an internal skin cooling platform, most clients say it feels virtually painless. For individuals who are more sensitive or for more sensitive areas, a topical numbing cream may be used to reduce the discomfort. This can be discussed further during your consultation.  

This depends on the area being treated. Most clients come between 4-6 weeks. This will vary for every client and will be discussed during your consultation. We recommend a minimum of 6 treatments but depending on factors more treatments may be required.

Risks of side effects vary with skin type, hair color, treatment plan and adherence to pre-treatment and post-treatment care. The most common side effects of laser hair removal include:  Skin irritation, temporary discomfort, redness and swelling. Any signs and symptoms typically disappear within several hours. 

Laser hair removal might darken or lighten the affected skin. These changes may be temporary . Skin lightening primarily affects those who don’t avoid sun exposure before or after treatment and those who have darker skin. Rarely, laser hair removal can cause blistering, crusting, scarring or other changes in skin texture. Other rare side effects include graying of treated hair or excessive hair growth around treated areas, particularly on darker skin.  Laser hair removal isn’t recommended for eyelids, eyebrows or surrounding areas, due to the possibility of severe eye injury.

Hairs do not fall out immediately, but you will shed them over a period of days to weeks. This may look like continued hair growth. The repeated treatment sessions are usually necessary because hair growth and loss naturally occur in a cycle, and laser treatment works best with hair follicles in the new-growth stage (Anagen stage).  Results vary significantly and are difficult to predict. Most people experience hair removal that lasts several months, and it might last for years. But laser hair removal doesn’t guarantee permanent hair removal. When hair regrows, it’s usually finer and lighter in color.  You might need maintenance laser treatments for long-term hair reduction.

No, laser hair removal generally does not require any real downtime. Immediately after having laser hair removal, your treated skin will be red and swollen. Despite this, most people return to their everyday activities.

Blonde and grey hair does not respond well to laser hair removal because of the lack of pigment in the hair follicle. Laser delivers light pulses that converts to heat energy to destroy the blood supply.  Laser hair removal is considered permanent hair reduction. The laser light is attracted to the pigment of the hair, therefore works best with darker colored hair. If you have white, grey, red, blonde or light brown hair the laser will not be able to see the pigment in your hair color and will have a difficult time treating it, electrolysis is the solution for you.

Electrolysis  

Electrolysis delivers an electrical current to the base of the hair follicle to destroy the blood supply. It involves inserting a small filament into the hair follicle and delivering a current. Depending on the technique used it will cause a chemical reaction, a heat reaction or both. Electrolysis targets each individual hair follicle. It takes time and commitment.
