IPL skin rejuvenation provides safe, comfortable, convenient and effective photofacials with little to no downtime.

During the treatment, a cool gel will be applied to the targeted area. The handheld device will then be moved across the skin, sending warm flashes of light to the affected area; IPL pulses may feel like a light snap from an elastic band, with some associated heat. The treatment is made more comfortable by the cooling heads of the handpiece. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subside within an hour.

Treatment time depends on the severity/size of skin damage, your skin type, and the type of treatment being performed.

Post-treatment: Most clients report little to no discomfort. You may feel some slight tenderness similar to a sunburn, but no downtime is required. Most do not experience any side effects following treatment, your skin may be a bit red and you may feel especially sensitive to sunlight for a few hours post-treatment. It is highly recommended to use a minimum of SPF30 following treatment.

During the first few days after treatment you may see a darkening of the pigmented spots. Over the course of about a week, these pigmented spots will flake off, leaving the skin underneath even and smooth. If a vascular lesion is treated in your session, you may see the vein blanch and disappear or a slight color change in the vessel which will dissipate after the next few days. You can expect to see maximum results of the treatment after about 1 to 2 weeks.

Many patients notice an immediate improvement in their skin after just one treatment. However, depending on the severity/size of skin damage, and your skin type, several treatments (3-5) may be required.

What is an IPL photofacial?

What should I expect during treatment?

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light, and a sensation on your skin that feels like a light snap of an elastic band.

What should I expect after treatment?

Over the following 24-48 hours you may see a darkening of pigments spots; in the week following the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an evening of the skin tone.

How many sessions do I need?

Although improvement can be noted after a single treatment, 3-5 sessions performed every 4-6 weeks may be required to provide optimal results. Treatment plans are individualized and depend on the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment and settings.

When should I expect results?

Sun damage and skin complexion results can be seen a few days after your first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more brilliant over time with the most visible results after 1-2 weeks. Having multiple sessions will improve the final result. For vascular treatments, results can be seen in up to 2 weeks.

Are there any side effects?

Most clients do not experience any side effects. Any skin reactions usually resolve within a few hours. Clients may find they are sensitive to sunlight after treatment. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight.

The cost for treatment varies depending on the area of the body you wish to target. Additionally, the final cost for the treatment will be determined based on how many treatments you require. However, a general price range is usually around $150+ per session, going up to $1,000 for packages.
