Everyone's skin reacts differently to treatment. A mild sunburn-like sensation is expected. This usually lasts 2-24 hours but can last up to 72 hours. Mild swelling and/ or redness may accompany this, but usually resolves in 2-3 days.
Avoid sun exposure after your Lumecca treatment. If you must be out in the sun, wear a sunblock of at least SPF 30.
Sun spots and age spot will DARKEN with the treatments BEFORE they begin to respond and resolve. This is expected and a normal part of the process. Do not pick, scrub and exfoliate these spots. Allow them to flake off on their own
Avoid any harsh products for 1 week following your appointment. This includes retinoids, alpha or beta hydroxy products, vitamin c products.
It is important to stay on schedule for your hair removal treatment. Typically, your next treatment should be scheduled 3-4 weeks away.
Apply a cold compress to reduce inflammation and swelling. Using an ice pack on the treated area following treatment will reduce swelling and inflammation.
In studio aftercare products can be purchased to help alleviate any redness and irritation.
